As a leading business technology consultancy, we specialise in strategy, facilitating funding and accelerating the commercialisation of compliant digital innovation in regulated industries; including but not limited to Health Technology.
Our Scope
Intercil provides strategic, technology commercialisation, development, governance and funding-support services within the scope of its agreed engagements. Where a proposed activity may constitute a regulated financial service, the appropriate regulatory requirements and delivery arrangements will be considered before work proceeds.
Intercil Associates is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). From time to time, we may communicate with FCA-authorised firms, self-certified high net worth or sophisticated investors. Where we deem appropriate we provide introductions only and do not advise on, arrange, or facilitate any investment transaction. Any investment decision is made solely between the parties introduced.
The activities of Intercil are excluded from the definition of a regulated activity by Article 27 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Regulated Activities) Order 2001 (SI 2001/544) and therefore do not require FCA authorisation.

An overview of Intercil's approach

Clarity, discretion and confidence
Choosing the right team is a significant decision.. You need confidence that data will be treated appropriately, that commercial recommendations will be grounded in evidence and implementation experience, and that any proposed engagement will be structured sensibly and proportionate to your objectives.
We understand effective advisory matters begin with trust.
Regardless of your firm's background and stage of growth, our role throughout is to provide clear thinking, informed challenge as a critical-friend and offer practical support where it is needed most. We do this while respecting the operational, financial, technical and sheer organisational challenges of the real world.
Confidentiality Matters
We understand that commercial, technical and funding discussions may involve sensitive information. Initial enquiries should not include confidential or proprietary material.
Where an engagement requires access to sensitive information, the appropriate confidentiality and information-handling arrangements will be agreed before disclosure.
Evidence-led, commercially grounded
Regardless of the engagement we undertake, we aim to distinguish clearly between:
- Established facts and verified information;
- Assumptions requiring further investigation;
- Professional judgement and interpretation;
- Opportunities that warrant further consideration;
- Risks, limitations and unresolved questions.
Our recommendations are intended to support and enhance better decision making - not to create unjustified certainty.
Where information is incomplete, unavailable or subject to change, we will identify that limitation. Where specialist legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, clinical, technical or investment advice is required, we will identify the need for an appropriately qualified professional or specialist adviser as mentioned above.
Our work is designed to help clients understand their options, improve preparedness and enable technology that enhances their ability to make informed decisions; within their own governance and risk frameworks.
Funding and Introductions
We may support our clients and their connections in clarifying funding objectives, preparing market intelligence and information, assessing potential adoption routes and improving readiness for discussions with relevant partners and other organisations.
Any funding-related support will be subject to the scope of the engagement and the circumstances involved.
Unless expressly confirmed otherwise in writing, Intercil does not:
- Guarantee access to grant funding or investment.
- Guarantee that an application, proposal or pitch will be successful.
- Act as a bank, lender, fund manager or investment provider.
- Make investment decisions on behalf of third parties.
- Provide regulated investment advice.
- Arrange or execute investment transactions.
- Hold client funds or investment assets.
Where appropriate and acting as an independent organisation, we may signpost or introduce clients to external organisations or professional advisers in our network. Any introduction is not an endorsement, guarantee or assurance of the third party’s suitability, conduct or capability to deliver an outcome.
